Job Description
Web Designer
The candidate for this role has a passion for design and solving visual communication problems along with the experience of how information and content should be presented most effectively on client-facing Web sites. Translate content & end user requirements into compelling user-centered interfaces by taking concepts from flowcharts to wire frames to a polished and provocative visual design and implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
# Demonstrate proficiency in developing client-side interactions using XHTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, JSP, Flash & Actionscript and will join a team of developers and designers responsible for interaction design at a large-scale corporate Web site.
# Present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
# Study concept, strategy, requirements and content and translate into an effective Web interface.
# Analyze user goals and target audience and craft interactive experience.
# Create visualization of an interface concept in the form of wireframes.
# Create new site elements and features for user interface that support the branding and stylistic needs of the Web site/application.
# Work closely with other Developers/Designers to ensure designs are accurately translated into a Web interface.
# Ongoing site maintenance including maintaining a consistent code base and look/feel across multiple web sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* 3 years exp in Web design w/strong interactive portfolio using XHTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, JSP and CSS
* Strong working knowledge of design, usability & marketing.
* Excellent understanding of web browsers & specifications, including style sheets & effective optimization of graphics.
* Extensive experience with multimedia apps - specifically Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. Flash a plus.
* Detailed knowledge of W3C Web standards.
* Working knowledge of common CSS browser compatibility constraints
*Bachelor's degree (major in graphic design preferred).*
