Job Description
Senior Producer – Star Trek Online The Star Trek Online team is a collection of highly skilled industry vets with a passion to transform Star Trek into a world-class MMORPG. As we approach the beginning of Star Trek Online’s public debut, we are looking for a Senior Producer who’s highly motivated by the opportunity to create a killer game within a rapidly evolving category. The right candidate has the experience and chops to provide design and market leadership for a demanding team and can strongly contribute to a new Star Trek vision. Responsibilities * Responsible for the profitable and timely delivery of Star Trek as a highly entertaining online experience * Directly manage a team of experienced Lead Designers and production personnel * Identify, communicate, and direct key product features/qualities that will drive product success * Direct the activities of other product elements, such as Marketing, PR, Community Relations, and Operations activities, with the software and its development to ensure consistency, quality, and timelyimplementation * Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Engineering Director, Development Director, and Executive Producer to establish and deliver shared goals * Work with the Sr. Development Director to establish and monitor product master schedule, development budget * Resolve design, schedule, budget conflicts * Provide leadership on videogame market trends, patterns and customer requirements, both in the US and markets abroad * Manage and mentor project production staff * Maintain excellent team morale * Ensure project progress transparency * Validate project development plan * Validate milestone results ensuring demonstrable progress towards product goals * Work with the EP to create and maintain product business plan. Obtain plan commitment and buy-in from key stakeholders including development team, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Staff * Regularly assess and demonstrate product business plan viability based on changing market trends and development progress * Ensure adequate corporate support to maximize product’s profit potential * Manage relationship with CBS Licensing and other lincensor divisions * Identify, contract and direct individuals or organizations outside the project in the creation of assets such as independent contractors, talent, music, sound, voice and video production. Manage external developers and contractors to contractual requirements. * Maximize product sales potential through value-added efforts including product extras, strategic relationships, and player community support * Provide support for ongoing Marketing, PR and Sales demonstrations and reviews for the project. This will include responsibilities to demo the product live for retail and press purposes * Responsible for communicating project development goals and progress to Sr. Management, and throughout the studio Qualifications * 8+ years game industry experience * 2-3 years experience designing or managing design in the video game industry * Budget and financial management experience * Successful track record in the development of high profile entertainment software products * Strong video game knowledge across a variety of platforms and genres. Extensive and current MMO consumer experience * Assertive and motivated team player * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Artistic or film background a plus Located in downtown San Francisco, Perpetual Entertainment is poised to become a major player in the software entertainment and platform development industry.
