Job Description
Description: The CW Network, LLC seeks a Broadcast Graphics Production Artist for the Graphics department. Position will produce pre-formatted graphics for weekly promotional and generic network branding elements. Assist designers in production of large scale design projects, working as a junior team member (design and technical supervision is required) – work could include research, type setting and formatting, logo and storyboard design, promotional elements design and production. Design/produce broadcast design elements with some supervision; work closely with and take direction from other designers and producers. Interacts (share ideas/concepts) with other designers, on-air promotion management, writers/producers, and online personnel to establish identity and assure consistent branding. Maintains detailed working knowledge of graphic promotional packaging and network branding tools. Work to improve overall quality and efficiency of department by maintaining technical standards.
Requirements: BA/BS degree in design or a related artistic field is preferred. Intermediate Mac design/Adobe production skills (Illustrator, PhotoShop, & After Effects) are required. Knowledge of 3D animation is a plus, but not required. Must be up to date with Macintosh computer technology. Good understanding of the broadcast industry and its technical considerations, production techniques and current design trends. Good typographic knowledge and sensibilities. Traditional artistic talents such as drawing, painting, & photography are beneficial. Must have good understanding of the "promo process” from beginning to completion. Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, if & when necessary. 1-2 years motion graphics experience required as demonstrated by reel. Ability to communicate effectively & tactfully with all levels of personnel (in person, written, telephone). Ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written & oral instructions. Ability to organize & schedule work effectively. Ability to work well under time constraints. Able to follow instructions, does not repeat mistakes, can meet deadlines. Quick learning curve. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and handle muliple tasks. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, if & when necessary.
