Job Description
The ideal candidate will possess: 3 years experience as assistant art director/designer (at a shelter or lifestyle magazine (4-color) a plus). Excellent computer skills in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Background in photography or some photography experience highly preferred. Image retouching experience a bonus, must know how to provide retouching direction at minimum. Ability to see color a must. Excellent production skills including color correcting, creating pdfs, press check experience, etc. Be extremely creative with the ability to concept photo shoots, design features and departments on a variety of subjects relating to home, garden and entertaining Ability to scout and style homes for photo shoots and be your own prop stylist. Excellent ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and with a team Ability to keep a magazine looking fresh Recruit and art direct photographers as needed About Our Company AUSTIN MONTHLY HOME is a beautiful quarterly shelter publication that focuses on design, architecture, entertainment and gardening in Austin and is a sister publication to AUSTIN MONTHLY which is the city magazine of Austin and owned by Conley Publishing.
