Job Description
I T Manager - OSC Roanoke Location: VA - Roanoke (Orvis Service Center) Category: Information Technology Shift(s): 1st Position Type: Full Time Date Posted: 6/17/2010 Relocation Available: Yes Position Profile: The Information Technology Manager will play a key role within the Orvis IT department. This position will join a dynamic team of professionals, who will evaluate business opportunities, select and design applications, and implement solutions, which enable the business to grow and become more productive. The IT Manager will be accountable for the successful support and strategic migration of assigned applications, will manage vendors, staff, project plans, and support requirements on behalf of the assigned business unit(s). This position will also need to maintain key business relationships and be responsible for budget input and management. The IT Manager will report to an IT Director or Sr. Manager responsible for supporting specific business systems. Direct reports include a variety of technical associates as well as external resources as needed. General Responsibilities o Manage all aspects of IT projects, from project initiation to full implementation. o Manage full time staff as well as external resources as needed. o Assist in refining and implementing the Orvis IT Project Life Cycle. o Contribute to the opportunity analysis of future business opportunities, and recommend changes to the IT strategic plan. o Develop strategic migration plans in key aspects of our business o Manage vendor communication, negotiation, and service level commitments throughout the project life cycle. o Develop and coordinate business training, documentation, and mentoring of implemented solutions. o Excellent communication & negotiation skills o Ability to challenge Orvis internal processes & articulate value of proposed changes o 5 to 10 years application development experience, 2 years leading projects & project team resources. o Experience defining, selecting, installing, & supporting packaged solutions o Experience facilitating, defining and documenting business process requirements, developing software selection criteria, & evaluating potential solutions o Ability to work independently, with strong team collaboration, analyze & solve problems o Ability to negotiate, influence, & articulate desired state & migration steps to achieve o Strong experience with the Microsoft Office & Outlook Software tools o 3 - 5 years experience with Manhattan’s WMS(s) required. PKMS, WM OS, or iSeries versions o 5 – 10 years AS400/iSeries RPG development required o Working knowledge of Oracle & SQL databases, Visual Basic, XML, and Financials systems
