Job Description
FUTURES EDITOR:
Assignment desk editor who oversees all future stories and coverage planning for E!’s news department—which includes E! News, Daily 10, and special news related events as well as coordinating live streaming for EOnline.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Candidate must come from a news background with a key focus on entertainment/pop culture.
· A creative, out of the box thinker who can conceive, develop and nurture stories both on and off the news relevant for the E! demographic.
· Must have a background in storytelling, production and story development.
· Candidate will be responsible for keeping and nurturing a news based calendar of events, and constantly coming up with stories based on the calendar.
· Candidate also must have management skills as a number of shared direct reports will be working closely with this person.
· One of the key’s to this position’s success is creative thinking on ways to tackle a story that differentiates us from our competitors.
· Futures editor will run our daily futures meeting and push entire newsroom staff to pitch and develop more content for network.
· Editor will keep abreast of breaking news and work and think quickly on ways to cover and address stories for second day follow-up.
· Futures editor must be strong reactive personality to breaking news as well as demonstrate a proactive sensibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Candidate must have 4-5 years experience in global newsgathering/producing arena
