Job Description
Men’s Accessories Buyer
Bluefly.com, a leading online outlet for designer fashion has a position available for a Men’s
Accessories Buyer within our merchant group. This person will be responsible for the nonapparel
category which includes: shoes, bags, belts, small goods, sunglasses, hats, gloves,
scarves, and ties.
Reports to: Vice President of Merchandising
Key Responsibilities:
• Ability to develop and select merchandise assortments which deliver great value, high
quality, and a compelling seasonal strategy
• Strong negotiation, analytical, written, verbal, and decision making skills
• Fluent knowledge of gross margin, open to buys, and assortment planning
• Proven history of development and management of vendor relationships and product
categories
• Explore new brands through competitive shopping via online and in stores
• Consistently stay up to date on current trends in the marketplace
• Research and develop new vendor relationships consistent with Bluefly growth strategy
• Drive successful vendor performance through accurate trend and business forecasting,
evaluation of sales results, and the taking of appropriate and timely action to maximize
business opportunities
• Ability to execute merchandise strategies consistent with the company’s overall direction
and mission statement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in fast paced and growing environment
Qualifications:
• 4+ years retail buying experience in a department or specialty store environment
• BA degree
• Ideal candidate should possess a creative, fashion oriented point of view
• Ability to think outside the box and have a great taste level.
• Strong computer skills: including Excel, Microsoft Word, Business Objects and Access
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and aggressive deadlines while working in fun, fastpaced,
environment
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-starter attitude
